I want to bring my laptop to NZ/Australia, will it work?

I'm from Canada, so apart from having to buy an adapter to plug it in, will highspeed 'WiFi' still work?

Yes it will I am an Aussie in USA and I am typing to you on my Australian laptop, just make sure that you buy a converter as our voltage is double yours in Canada and it could blow your comp, and you will also need a outlet plug as ours again are different, you can purchase these items at the airport before you leave :o)

weebat
It certainly should. As far as I know, they don't work off of any crazier satalites than we do.

We not so ancient here in Oz, lol nah it should work as long as you have the right adaptor and I don't know but you probably need to look for the plug as well because we may have different plug outlets

Peace

It should as long as you buy an outlet when you get there because the electric status is different. Have FUNN!

WiFi will work 100% - it is a world standard, just has different laws applying to the band so thats not a problem.

You can pick up a plug that has your canadian plug on one side, and the Australian plug on the other from any junk shop here for about $2. And don't worry about the voltage change, because I brought my last two laptops in the USA and the powerpacks are always dual voltage.

In a nutshell, you wont blow up your lap top and can still get your email at starbucks :D

jane_sutherland1966
it will work perfectly, not a problem
