LOL!
You have to be kidding me right?
There are murders everyday here. Let's check the Aussie newspapers shall we?
Police say a woman allegedly killed during a seven hour siege in Geelong was strangled and suffocated. A women was killed by a man in house near Melboure.
A man was found burnt out in a car.

A man was stabbed while waiting in line at Mcdonalds.
http://www.abc.net.au/news/stories/2008/09/22/2370390.htm
A man was punched and killed in Perth.
http://www.abc.net.au/news/stories/2008/09/22/2370839.htm
A man was stabbed to death in a pizza shop in Sydney.
http://www.abc.net.au/news/stories/2008/09/22/2370271.htm
About 3 or 4 murders a day. That's alot considering our country isn't big in population.
Just down the road from me, two teenagers were stabbed last night.
http://www.abc.net.au/news/stories/2008/09/21/2370062.htm
When we were living in a small town in outback Queensland, our next door neighbour was shot in his sleep.
My step brother was beaten to a pulp because he is black by a gang of youths.
Our car has been broken into as has our house.
There was a shootout right near our school a couple of years ago.
In primary school we were sent into lockdown because a man was running around the area with a gun and was threatening people.
So yes crime does exsist here!
Don't kid yourself, Australia is no different.
The lucky country? You decide.
Thank you :)

crime does exist in australia, but definitely not as frequently as in the united states
gun control is much stricter so shootings are rare
however, i dont think that you should base your decision on this factor alone as crime does still occur in australia, particularly in specific areas |

You are right about hardly any shootings, you can't buy guns here like you can in the US. There is still crime here of course. It depends where you decide to live. If you are in the gang areas of the cities then you aren't any safer... but where I live we never lock our doors. It just depends on the area I think... But in saying that you will hear of the occasional robbery or graffiti in our town but nothing significant.
Depends on the area. Australia is pretty safe in comparison to a lot of places. But like the previous post said, murder is still apparent, but it is definitely based more on domestic violence etc etc.
I can't say though whether or not to move, Australia is a beautiful country and I won't try and say nothing bad happens here. We have free healthcare, strict gun laws, and beautiful beaches.
It's up to you. |

Yes, you should leave the US as Aus is a great place to live. We still have crime and murders here, just not on the same scale. Shootings are uncommon as guns are banned here. Some bad people still get them though. |

Yeahh come over, we dont have murders everyday, its not as fearful and scary and intimidating as most of America. Theres a few gangs here but they stick to themselves unless you mess with them, theres a bit of a racism problem between us & "wogs" but its mostly in the past.. theres the usual weirdos who kill for no reason like anywhere else, but serious you choose the right place to live and its paradise.. Either in the outback or along the beachsides, even in the normal suburbs its sweet.. We are a friendly, laid back country who just love livin in this beautiful country.. Come over, you'll feel save for the rest of your life |

Well it really depends were you live in australia, of course a little bit of crime happens everywhere, and theirs certainly more than 1 murder every 3 moths but it is much worse in places like kings cross than the suburbs. Where I live there is next to know crime(northern beaches). I can't tell you whether to leave the USA or not that's your decision but it is hard to come and live hear( get a visa etc) and also I think you should think about more reasons I don't think just a bit of crime is enough of a reason to move half way around the world. |
