Im from NZ. they have 1 breed of spider, and its harmless!!! no snakes either. it has to be safest place in the world to go bush walking

Paddles
I am a proud kiwi and their are no dangerous bugs or animals in nz. You can relax. Just be prepared to see lots and lots of sheep! Very clean and green country. I am sure that you will have a wonderful time there. Have a safe and enjoyable study experience!

No snakes or dangerous animals. There is 1 native posionous spider called the Katipo, but this is very really seen let alone bitten anyone. There is the White Tail spider that came over from Auzzie this one is posinous but won't kill ya. I know a couple of people who have been bitten by the white tail, it left a nasty infection but nothing fatal. There's really not much to worry about over here.

By the way it's so funny what Australians get up to with sheep I love hearing jokes about it..

The only thing you have to worry about are the people - the bugs and animals are quite civilised!

Only dangerous things we have are the politicians and the Katipo spider, which is rare and mostly in the sandy grass of beaches. Put it this way, every year I spend much of my summer on the beaches around New Zealand (Im 30) and I have never encountered one. We have no snakes, no predatory animals, no big cats, nada. (NZ broke off from Australia or at that time Gondwana and was largely submerged way way back in the Mesozoic(100million years ago). I think, from memory, as little as 15% of the land remained above sea level, severely affecting the flora and fauna)
So basically, rest easy.
