Every country is part of a continent- there are 7 continents: Oceania, North America, South Amercia, Europe, Asia, Africa and Antarctica.

New Zealand is a island that is a part of the continent of Oceania, which is sometimes refered to as Australiasia.

Same as Australia is a island that is a part of the continent of Oceania.

New Zealand is part of Zealandia, a continent that is 93% submerged. Zealandia is almost half the size of Australia and is unusually long and narrow. About 25 million years ago, a shift in plate tectonic movements began to pull Zealandia apart forcefully. The submerged parts of Zealandia are the Lord Howe Rise, Challenger Plateau, Campbell Plateau, Norfolk Ridge and the Chatham Rise.

Its part of Australia/Oceania

Your guess is as good as mine. I even went in to a New Zealand chat room and they did not know!!!

New zealand is nothing to do with Australia. It is a separate country 1200 miles away

New Zealand is definitely not in any continent. It's 2 islands off the east coast of Australia.

camsean73
It is an island and thus not part of any Continent.

New Zealand is not part of the continent of Australia but is part of the wider region known as Australasia.
Australasia is a term variably used to describe a region of Oceania: Australia, New Zealand, and neighbouring islands in the Pacific Ocean.
It is also suggested that New Zealand is part of Zealandia, a continent that is 93% submerged. Zealandia is half the size of Australia.

New Zealand used to be attached to the Eastern Sea Board of Australia until the tictonic plates moved and New Zealand became an Island way back in prehistoric times, so therefore it is an Island of the Oceania Pacific region
