Most Australians visit America to witness firsthand the crimes and violence they see on "Cops" |

Australians are broad-minded enough to enjoy the experience of living and working in another country; we travel to see the sights and meet the people; and to confirm that our country is number 1.
And Dean, you clown, we are not lacking in secondary education. That is why we have no truck drivers - we are too educated for that.
If you are interested, look up the recent report given to the US government about their schools. Australia is one of 6 countries in the world who score in the top 10 in the 3 standardised, school-age tests. The report makes recommendations to make the US education system similar to the Australian model (well, New South Wales model) |

same thing goes for India and scotland and many many more other countries |

haha! "Dean A" I can't believe how ignorant you are. It makes me laugh. It really does. First of all. We have excellent secondary education over here. Education in Australia is amongst the best in the world. Secondly you said that you train our truck drivers.....would you really call that secondary education? Is driving a truck really higher education? Ok....I'll speak slowly...in...Australia we have these places called UNIVERSITIES....in these magical places Australia's can study and attain degrees......but here's the catch. You need to be smart to get these degrees....that's why you are ignorant and know nothing about Australia. |

that's what we think but they think it's not |

(from the USA) Australians are good people. It's great to have them visit! They are a warm hearted lot. |

barney.. as an Australian citizen I have taken this issue on - as a seventeen year-old it was a kind of done thing to visit the "roots" of ones' country, that was for me in 1975..I loved it, had no money, found out about rising damp, Hyde Park, heroin and p54's??? The eight months of sleet, snow and grey sky killed any long-term plans, rite of passage for young Aussies but mate....deadset....you wouldn't wanna live there! |

That sounds similar. all over there? I think the question works both ways. Have you ever heard the expression "the grass is always greener on the other side of the fence"? |

They want to compare their country with other countries and to do so they have to travel. So they are sure that their country is the best. |

I haven't seen many Aussies here.

Scotland IS a 'country'... so is Wales, England etc. Your geography needs brushing up. |

Because they want to visit 'the old country' which is where most of their ancestors came from. Hey fellas! Welcome one and all.
PS to the bloke who said Scotland isn't a country. Time you went back to school pal. It's that place they call 'North of the Border'. |

imarobotwah!

Haha Dean, why do all american's think australians are incompetent! Thats why Australian's travel, to prove to the world how great we are! |

Their not and 99.9% wouldn't want to be irrespective of where over here is,The majority of Australians wouldn't be any where else but Australia.Maybe they are just checking it out to help them understand how you can live over there. In all probability even you will be welcome to visit our shores. If you get enough of us over there you may end up with a half decent cricket and rugby league teams. |

Well I am australian, been in london for 4 months now. The reason i moved is to travel europe and because england is an english speaking country, its easy for me to get a job here and earn those pounds. Our aussie dollar does not go far over here and it is very hard to travel europe on it - much easier to earn pounds ... Now as for the weather, yes, its sh*t over here and yes, aussie weather kicks a** , but i look at my priorities - i want to see the world. Is much more difficult from australia. But anyway, the UK is a pretty great country, im loving it over here, but australia is always home and will always be better! |
