The Great Barrier Reef -
world's largest coral reef system, and on the World Heritage Site listed as one of the seven natural wonders of the world.
Uluru (or known as Ayres rock) -
A large sandstone rock formation located in the Northern Territory of central Australia
It is listed as a World Heritage Site for its natural and man-made attributes.
The Gold Coast beaches and theme Parks -
So much to do, beaches are breathtaking, there's also Sea world, Dreamworld, Movie world and Wet 'n Wild.
I would also throw in Steve Irwins Zoo - 'The Australian Zoo' ! |

Only 3? Okay, but you'd miss many other nice places worth a journey just for themselves. To get the best impression on the variety Australia is offering, these are the 3 places I'd recommend:
Sydney: Opera House, Harbour Bridge, Taronga Zoo, Darling Harbour, ... One of the greatest cities on this planet.
Cairns: easy access to the Great Barrier Reef and the tropical rain forest; there's so much to do up there!
Kakadu National Park: Outback feeling, waterfalls (best after wet season in may /june), aboriginal paintings, etc... |

If only three - then I will go to :
The Great Barrier Reef - anywhere along to Queensland coast where the reef is.
Sydney Harbour - and sight see all that it has to offer. Take a ferry across the world' s most beautiful harbour to Manly beach and have fish and chip for lunch there. It's a must for a truly Aussie experience, climb the famous "Coat Hanger" (The Bridge).
Uluru - for the biggest, most breath taking colour changing rock in the world |

Gold Coast - 300 days of sunshine a year, beautiful beaches, lots of theme parks and places to stay
Perth - beautiful places to stay, nice beaches, not much population
Tasmania - quiet place, not much population, nice looking greenery and the Cadbury factory |
