If you have a choice to settle anywhere in Australia forever, where will you settle?

Brisbane.
Was born in Sydney, have lived in Melbourne, Perth, Newcastle, Coffs Harbour, Canberra and Mackay.... Brisbane is the best for me.
The city itself is awesome but it's also so close to the Gold Coast and Sunshine Coast (where Steve Irwin's zoo is) and only an hour flight to Sydney.
Truly, it is a great place.

Wherever the crocodile hunter was from. That part looked FUN!

Tasmania also seems very beautiful, but really anyplace with the rolling green hills and laid back lifestyle.

Well I am in Brisbane at the moment. I have been in this home for 3 years now. years is the longest I have stayed anywhere. I guess I have bad eyesight and I find travel really terrifying. So what I do is move and get to know the place thoroughly and then move on. I guess everywhere is beautifully. Beach or bush. desert or rainforest's, city or country. Its all a matter of getting to know the place and respecting it for what it is. It is all one big beautiful country.

It will definetly be Melbourne.l

I'm from Venezuela, but due to the political situation here, I'm migrating with my family to Australia, and after much deliberation I've chosen Melbourne. It's supposed to be the most livable city in the world, according to The Economist. Houses are cheaper than in Sydney and there's a lot of things to do. I've spoken with many people before deciding. I hope I'm doing the right thing.

I'd either stay here in qld on the gold coast or i'd go back to tassie. But i do prefere goldy to tassie.

P.S for the dude who doesn't know where irwin is from he lives in beerwah on the sunshine coast in qld- queensland.

everywhere in Oz is great

i love melb, brissie, the NT, tassie, SA, (not been to WA yet, so can't comment) and of course sydney.

to me, i'd love to have a house (not a flat or a duplex) on the hill overlooking Balmoral in Sydney's norther suburbs. It's my favourite spot in that city and without any real through traffic, the beach and middle harbour to look out over, it's just amazing.

for the rest of my days you say, yeah i could handle Balmoral, sure would be nice, aaahhh

thanks, nice dream break, now back to study, so i can pass my exams, get my degree, find a top job, and afford my dream home...

Adelaide! Laid back city with much culture going on, beautiful tranquil beaches, and fine wine. I lived there for a year and I'm so for coming back.

Melbourne!

It's supposed to be the most livable city in the world...

Perth's too slow, Sydney's too expensive...

Melbourne's just the right mix!

Somewhere in Queensland, it is the sunshine state and has a great climate, alot of Australians move up there. Sydney is a nice city to visit but is busy and expensive.

I don't know Australia. Anywhere where I could be walking distance to a beautiful non-populated, non-polluted beach.
