Callie

If you only had 4 days to explore the East Coast of Australia, where would you go?

I live in Canberra and prefer to driving over flying. I would also prefer areas that are not going to cost thousands of dollars eg flying to Hamilton Is for 4 days would be out of the question. Please be as specific as possible to location and why you particularly liked that area.

If you're leaving from Canberra try this -

drive over to the NSW South Coast - try places like Ulladulla, Jervis Bay (various towns in and around there) then make your way up to Sydney and go do touristy stuff there then back to Canberra.

Given it's heading into winter, you're better off saving this one for summer so you can take advantage of the beaches in Jervis Bay but camping around there is really good anytime of the year - Honeymoon Bay is just one example.
I'm sure you already know some stuff to do in Sydney but it's a good place to visit if you're going with someone else and it makes for a good round trip.

Go to Brisbane. 1 & half hr drive north & you are in Noosa. 1 & a half south & you are at the Gold Coast. Easy

Come down to Victoria. Make Melbourne your base and go for lots of day and half day trips all over the state.
There is a wide diversity and so much to see and do for all ages styles and taste.
Melbourne itself is really such a beautiful city and its provincial cities certainly have plenty to offer the tourist.
Have a look at the Victorian Government's Tourism website and you will see exactly what I mean.
Have a great holiday.

When i went to Australia the things i liked the best were the sightseeing things in Sydney especially the harbor cruise in Sydney Harbor. I also love south stradbroke Island its more pricey but still not that bad plus the scenery is BEAUTIFUL. Although it is not on the coast theres a great farm called Adora Downs, it is a definite place to see.

From Canberra, I'd drive to the coast and head north, along the coast, until it was time to turn around and head back home.
There are many lovely spots to see and explore in a 2 day north, 2 day south, drive from Canberra.

Everything is nice from Byron bay up to Noosa. Do go toFrasier island for he day as it really amazing.

mister
I would go everywhere I could possibly go in that time, in order to see as much as possible.
