If you were to travel in a bus for three hours, would you consider a toilet in the bus as essential?

This is a research question. To run a bus for three hours non stop, would you choose a bus with a toilet in preference to one with out and if so , would you be prepared to pay a little more for the service.

Any other comments about toilets in buses would be apprectiated

Haven't travelled in a bus with a toilet as yet, and have done many trips with periods of three or more hours without a "comfort stop". Guess if I had a choice then I would, in view of my now advanced age, take the one with a toilet, but not if there was more than a very small difference in price.

Horizontal
No, no and no.

Luz -mag
yes but if the price changes alot avoid you can handle it. just avoid liquids before and during the ride.

Mate,It all depends on how much water I drank that day! Good luck on your project,it sounds hunky-dory!

Peedah
If the bus is not going to stop for breaks during the trip, then yes, a toilet is essential. I wouldn't pay more for it but I wouldn't go on a bus without one for that long.

pugsbaby
gotta love it don't cha

i've been on many drives and it's always funny when you see the long distance buses stop with their load of pax out having a wiz

i guess there is the tight schedule to keep and if they stop in the middle of no where then the pax are less likely to wander off and delay the rest of the trip

interesting research you're doing dude? all the best...

Not for a three hour trip. An organised 10 minute stop halfway should be sufficient. Traders can make a lot of monet from buses stopping in so it can be a win/win situation.

azza
No. Ive travelled way longer periods without a toilet on a bus. The toilet is really only useful for people who are sick etc.

Behhar B
I've taken 12 hr trips and only used the bathroom once when we stopped for lunch. But that's just me. I know my GF would need a bathroom on a 3 hr trip. For her the cleanliness would be a BIG issue... if they were clean to start with and didn't get nasty during a trip I think she'd pay a little more.
