Im going to be spending a week in Melbourne. What should I get up to while I'm there?

Things that I would recommend -

***Werribee Zoo (most of it is a 1 hour trip on a bus through a "safari") The end of June is usually pretty wet so at least you are safe in a bus.
***A footy game at the MCG or Telestra Dome, depends of you already follow AFL - if not try and get to a Collingwood or Essendon match, they usually have the biggest crowds so you will get more atmosphere.
***Look around Crown and have dinner there one night - then have stage shows there so you could always do that, or there is bowling, cinemas, bars ect, so you could just hang out and have a good time
***Day trip to Great Ocean Road, I would suggest take two days, so drive out stay down there for a night and drive back. Because it's June you won't be able to swim or anything but it's a beautiful drive
***Aquirium in Melbourne, it will only take a few hours but i enjoy going in and having a look around
***Day trip to the Dandenongs, it's a lovely drive out, if you leave Melbourne about 9.30am have a drive and look around, find somewhere to have lunch - make sure you go to Sky High, and you would be back in the city by dinnertime. You can always stay in the Dandenongs the night, but it's only a hours drive from Melbourne so the choice is yours
***Daytrip to Ballarat to the Gold Mines. I would almost suggest staying in Ballarat the night, so you can travel out to Ballarat in the morning, go to Sovingren Hill for the day, have dinner and stay in Ballarat the night, then the next day head out to Bendigo for a day trip before heading back into Melbourne.
** You could spend a few days just exploring Melbourne - jumping on trams and seeing where you end up. If you are into shopping then Smith Street Collingwood and Bridge Road Richmond are good for bargin shopping.
** Dinner in St Kilda, I love either Circa or gee, can't remember the name of the other restaurant, but it's down near St Kilda Marina, beautiful views of the bay.
** If you like wines then it may be worth booking yourself onto a winery tour in the Yarra Valley - you get to see the beautiful Yarra Valley and taste and purchase wines, plus usually there is dinner as well.

That depends entirely on your age, your sex, your sexuality, your interests etc etc etc. All tastes are catered for in Melbourne. If you are going to be there any time from April onwards, go and see a footy game at the MCG or Docklands.

If you have time, a drive down the Great Ocean Road would be awesome - it takes about an hour and a half to get to the start of it on the coast and from there you can take it as far as you want. But leave at least one day to do it, if you want to see a lot. Along the road are rainforests and the coast with lots of amazing sights.

In Melbourne itself though - I reckon the Docklands are boring as hell; tacky and just made for ripping off tourists! I'd go into the city centre and go on a laneways tour (they're walking tours of all the teeny laneways - bars, cafes, shops, street art etc), wander around.

Check out the beach at St Kilda or Elwood, where you can have yummy dinners and drinks at bars. In St Kilda, the Espy is a landmark pub. Very important to sit upstairs and drink beers whil the sun sets over the beach.

As for nightlife... depends what you're into. There are so many clubs and bars. But you should definitely check out Madame Brussels in the city - it's like drinking in Alice's Wonderland. An awesome bar with lovely cocktails.

There's lots to do. When you get here, buy a copy of the Herald Sun and take a look at what's on around the place. It depends when you'll be here.

If you're coming in March, there are plenty of events like the FI Grand Prix, the FINA swimming championships and the Avalon Airshow.

within Melbourne: Zoo, MCG, Melb Museum, Melb Aquaium, federation Square, Queen Vic Market

Catch the free sity citcle tram, it will take you all around the city and gives you a little info about wht you can see at each stop. you can get on and off as much as you like.

If you want to travel out of the city and see more of Victoria: deffinatly get a car and travel the Great Ocean Road, 12 Apostles, Surf coast, Otways Rangers, Otways national park. are all great spots along the GOR.

otherwise: Phillip Island, Yarra Valley, Mt Macedon, Hanging Rock

the museum they have a mini forest with animals in it
go to the top of the observation tower at night(I went in a thunderstorm it was cool)

between Melbourne and Sydney...Two place a bit far apart but you should try and visit the Three Sisters...the blue mountains....beautiful there..and take a tour bus...they are great

In Melbourne, Florida you are close to Cocoa Beach (Ron Jon's Surf Shop), and Orlando. it's also only a 3 hour drive to the west coast where a lot of MLB teams play for spring training.
