why would you be mad to take a trip to australia?

if you have the money (the flights are expensive) no but just try and book flights where you will arrive in the morning and leave in the evening so that you can try and sleep cos you will have jet lag.

With out a doubt YES, you are barking to even think about it. It takes maybe 3 to four days to get over the jet lag a lone and it's truly a horrible experience, with swelled legs and a horrible hangover feeling. The older you are the worse it will hit you. If you can sleep anywhere it may help but strong sleeping tablets, preferably under prescription are about the only thing that may make it possible. I don't care what the doctors say I'm sure there are long term effects, and it cant be worth damaging your health for a week. Plus you will have to contend with the mind numbing boredom of 20 hours cramped travel, where there is nothing to do but watch TV. Also, OZ is expensive now and with the pound collapsing it's goner cost you. Then of course there's the pollution and the global warming aspect. The last time I went I met a couple who were going for two weeks and they were almost crying when they got off the plane because they knew they'd have to do the whole thing in just a few days. Great country though.

Depends on the situation, If you work and can get the time off, got the money and no other commitments go for it!

Spike
If your total travel time is just 7 days you are being pretty ambitious. By the time you get there due to the flight time and the time difference between the UK and Australia nearly 3 days will have gone by. Add to that a really long sleep, a trip to the wedding and reception, a day out at the beach and it will be time to come home. You will be wrecked. I would suggest a minimum of 11 days stopping over in Singapore for 1 night on the way out which will leave you the best part of a week to enjoy the area where you will stay in Australia. There is no way that you can get to see very much even on that timescale but it will at least be more relaxing.

A week is a bit short considering how far away it is. It would still be cool to Australia though. When did you last see the people that are getting married?

Judith of the Never Never
No, not at all, go for it, if you can get more time off I would try for at least 2 but you will have a ball when you get here.

hello its me
no...the jet lag means that youre gona b wasting a few days anyway , so live it up
also why pay that much and fly for that long if u gona b here for such a short time !
u should come for longer!

Come for longer and see a bit of our great country while you're here.

Are you close to the couple? It's a fairly pricey wedding to attend.

Kris
yes
you cant experience australia in a week!

but if you wanna stay longer you can
also you can go again when your older
that is what my auntie and uncle (family friend)
when they turned 60 they decided to go to australia for a 6 month vacation!

how unbritish and unbottomly

to do something spontaneous without announcing it to the world first

It depends how much you want to be at the wedding....but yes....I wouldn't go that far for a week. It's a waste of time and money. Presumably you are UK?
The flights aren't any less expensive just because you are not staying long ya know. You will be fit for nothing for a day after you've arrived. And to go that far and see nothing else but the town where the wedding is...well.....you've answered your own question IMO.

i would think so,it's on the other side of the world.if i'm not mistaken it a 22 hour flight from the UK.if they pay your expenses go for it
