Is Australia a peaceful country compared to USA? ?
There's absolutely no comparison between the two countries. There are very few places even in our largest cities where it's unwise to go at night. Violence is simply something that never touches ordinary people. The two main reasons for this are our very strict and well enforced gun laws and the fact that for some reason, the crack culture doesn't seem to have penetrated here.
Most Australians have never even seen a gun much less owned one and though gun crime happens occasionally, it's very rare and more likely to affect other criminals than people who live within the law.
In common with every other country, we have drug problems and some addicts cause problems from time to time, but the level of drug violence is on nowhere near the scale seen in the USA. We also have nothing like the gang culture found there.

Australia does not have the gun culture, the gangs or the levels of poverty that America has. There is also free health care for people with psychological problems who may not be able to afford care in America. Can you imagine the big gun buy-back that happened in Australia around 10 years ago happening in America? Never! We don't have a powerful gun lobby. Australians are also generally more laid-back and less stressed than Americans.
