Is Canada like Australia?

Obviously Australia doesn't have a huge amount of French influences.

But i have a feeling Canada is probably heaps like Australia.

Small population compare to its size.

Good at random sports.

Multicultural.

Has anyone been to both and felt a connection between the two?

I am from canada, and Lets just say,I have a sweater that says,"i'd wrather be in Australia" It may sound a tad strange, but ever since I was a little girl,I felt like I was in the wrong place.I've always had this strong connection to australia.I feel home sick.I'm 33 yrs.old, and I don't know if I'll ever see the place that you are so lucky to live in.It's not that grand to live out here, all it does is rain! And there are no vegetarians out here, and nobody knows who Silverchair is!!

My fiance has a few Canadian workmates and most of us Aussies and Kiwis get along well with them. All the Canadians agree on one thing however, Australia is better because it's further away from the USA.

I have always thought we have a connection mainly because we are both Commonwealth countries and similar sense of humour after being bought up watching British comedies.
I haven't visited but it is one country that is on my wish list.

I was friends with a Canadian guy who was here for university and we got along great. Definitely get each others humours and we have respect for each other.

Australians and Canadians usually get on really well. Canadians have a similar sense of humour and attitude to life (unlike the southern barbarians). Canadians also spell properly.

Australia tends to be a tad warmer than Canada in winter.

I've never been to Canada, but I have met a lot of Canadians and from what I can see, in terms of culture, we are quite similar. We have similar interests, similar drinking culture and similar humour. I really enjoyed their company!

From what I hear, Australia is quite warm compared to Canada. Droughts are also quite common here and most places don't ever see snow.

The weather is better in Australia though ;)

I don't think the country itself is like Aust much but the ppl are very similar. I think canadians closer to us then english or any other nationality. Very similar sense of humour and we tend to relate well to each other
