I live in Melbourne & I reckon it is ONE of the best places in OZ. But there are so many to choose from! Maybe check out Sydney, Brisbane and Perth for a short holiday to see if you like them and if not, then come back to Melbourne! Best of luck! |

Yes broaden your horizons !
There is MUCH more to Australia than Melbourne. You've been-there-done-that, now go out and see the rest of Australia ! |

Melbourne is the most livable city. Don't go to Sydney, not very friendly. |

Come to sydney! You have the harbour bridge and the opera house plus luna park and other attractions like the aquarium, imax theatre and wildlife world.. everything in sydney is just beautiful and something really fun to do is to get a ferry from darling harbour and spend the day in manly. its really nice there.
also ive been to brisbane and thats great as well
by the way, melbourne is really nice too but im pretty sure that there are more than just one 12 apostles that have fallen down now.
have fun =] |

i LOVE Melbourne and i'll never leave/ I've been to queensland a few times, actually i just got back from a week long holiday from surfers paradise and i felt so out of place there because there's no multiculturalism, everyone i saw was anglo. Or maybe its just because Melbourne is my home and im used to it, who knows. |

Melbourne has culture, sport and a very Europe feeling to it. I think "Best Part" is VERY personal. I find it is, but that's my opinion.
I've been to Brisbane and I like it but it does not have the Job Opportunities Melbourne or Sydney has, but it is catching up. Climate is warmer and more to do -> Gold Coast.
Sydney I really dislike, its has to much of an ant hill for me.
Adelaide has no Jobs for me and Perth is....nice but in compression with Mel or Syd its provincial. |

Shopping wise, Melbourne is best, but scenery wise, sydney's absolutely gorgeous ESPECIALLY when you're at Taronga Zoo looking out at the harbour. There's everything you could want to see in a big city, Scyscrapers, Water, The Opera House, The harbour Bridge, Boats and Lush green plants. If you're interested in coming to Tasmania, There is about the same difference between Sydney and Melbourne as there is between Hobart and Launceston. Launceston is great for shopping but Hobart has lots of great beaches. Although, launceston has a gorge which is absolutely Gorgeous! Especialy for swimming. By and Large, Australia is a very beautiful place. |

Melbourne's a "back-water", check out Adelaide! Hee,hee!
I would go to Adelaide, visit Kangaroo Island (heaps of wildlife etc. Beautiful), and then get on a Adelaide to Melbourne tour via the Great Ocean Road - which heaps of companies do. Also Perth is fantasic.
(I think a few of the apostles have fallen, i think there are only about 7 now.) |

I love Brisbane. Perth is too small and provincial, there's no real adult night life |
