I live in New Zealand...and yep we are part of Germany and German is our national language...Hitler came here at the end of the war and we had a big party with all the maori and polynesians that live here! Hitler did not enjoy it as much but it made the papers around the world. He is in a retirement village and he is getting on a bit now.
The Black forest is in my backyard..it joins with the southern alps. The lord of the rings was filmed in the black forest....

What?? No way - it's thousands of km away and has never had anything to do with Germany. New Zealand is an independent nation though the British queen is its head of state. |

New Zealand is off the coast of Australia - Germany is on the other side of Europe and Asia. |

Yes, it became a piece of Germany as part of the Geneva Convention. This is the same time that Hawaii became a part of Mexico. |

Polly.
I think your school friends are pulling your leg ;)
New Zealand and Germany have only even had diplomatic relations for 55 years.
After the Treaty of Versailles of 1919, Germany lost all its colonial possessions, including German New Guinea, which is not too far away from New Zealand. |

See, what happened was, nobody wanted to claim New Zealand as its own (not even New Zealand itself!), so Germany, abiding by their strong human rights history, took on the job nobody else dare. |

No, New Zealand is not a part of Germany.
New Zealand is an independent country in the South Pacific Ocean located to the South East of Australia. New Zealand was originally a British Colony. The confusion is probably coming from the way it was named. The islands of New Zealand were discovered by the Dutch explorer Abel Tasman. Dutch map makers named the islands Nova Zeelandia. Captain James Cook later Anglicised that to New Zealand, which remains today. |

Yeah it's part of Germany.
They speak German there, and the capital is Berlin.

Ummm NO!! Where would you get that from? New Zealand is its own country. It is apart of the commonwealth and not related to Germany at all. Who ever told you that is either stupid or your gullible. New Zealand is the islands in the south pacific next to Australia. |

I just had to look at this question purely to see what answers you got. It seems that many answers where answered in a joke way as I think they thought your question is a joke If so Hehehehehehe. If not will the answer is a definite NO. But New Zealand did adopt the government way of politics like the German system . New Zealand is it's own Country run by no one but themselves but because it is also a commonwealth Country they have Queen Elizabeth as the head of State but really she doesn't play a role but they have her to call upon if needed. |
