Be aware if you do come to Australia for higher studies, that these courses are charged to overseas people at a premium. They will cost you a considerable amount of money. The cost of living is also quite high and nobody is going to be making things any easier for you just because you are an overseas student. You will not be eligible for the assistance that Australian born students receive. Therefore, if you can afford to pay between $60 - $80k (average) for your course, if you can afford to spend around $30k for rent and utilities and if you can live on around $5-6k a year for food and transport, then you will have a chance.
Don't depend on getting part time work whilst studying. More and more of the typical 'student' jobs are going to unemployed and out of work Australians. This situation is only going to get worse. Students have a reputation for being extremely unreliable in the work force. I can see the Government becoming extremely pro-active about limiting employment opportunities to overseas students when Australians are out of work.
Bear in mind though, if you study something that thousands and thousands are graduating in each year and if there is an over-supply of these graduates, then you will very likely not be offered a job here. If you graduate as something we need, then you do have a chance at remaining here. |

This is the right time to immigrate or come to Australia for studies as you would get value of your currency since Aussie Dollar is low. |

Assuming you can qualify for immigration, I suggest that you don't consider coming unless you have an employer to sponsor you ar at the least, a job offer. Unemployment is rising rapidly and will continue to do so for at least the next couple of years and while there are still jobs available, the pick of them will usually go to people with Australian experience and education. The only way you can be sure of avoiding unemployment for some months after arrival is to have a job in hand.
If you're thinking of coming for higher education that will take at least a couple of years, that would be an excellent idea. By the time your course is finished you'll have Australian educational qualifications and will be in a good position to find employment when things pick up again - and they will. Part time employment should still be available during your studies and you may even be able to find it in a related field which will give you valuable Australian work experience and contacts. No guarantees though. |

No one can answer this correctly as some will make it and find it's the best thing they have ever done others will struggle so I would suggest to come with the notion if it doesn't work out you can go back home and be richer for the experience. |

Our immigration is being rather limited and restricted at the moment.
Just last week our Prime Minister said that approximately 300,000 Australians will lose their job over the coming months. More people are losing their jobs and very few are hiring.
For migration, you need to be in an occupation on the Skilled Migration List which basically means the employer has to prove that they can not get an Australian to do the job first before they can give it to a migrant. With 300,000 + those already unemployed, Australians will get the first jobs available.
From your question I get the assumption you are not a skilled worker so permanent migration is not an option. Look into more, but I wouldn't even consider moving until the economy stabilises. |
