It would depend on what you're looking for, Australia and the USA are similar in many ways but also very different in others.
Being an Aussie I'd say Australia but that's because it's my home and I love it here.
Americans would probably say the USA because it's their home and they love it. |

Australia!! We have health care, a healthy lifestyle, we're not all fat, we have many mnay beaches and good beer. The school system in America sucks! How can you say the American one is better than the Australia when over there you can finish high school and not have any idea about geography or the world outside their own country? |

I'm having this problem now! I'm a dual citizen and want to move back to America after I finish high school.
Here's what I think:
Australia: Medicare; you're protected - safe, safer economy and just a safer place to live, you're more welcome here; not so much an 'outsider', smaller country, less people, laid back atmosphere...
America: Bigger and 'better' as often portrayed, health system sucks, school system is definitely better, not very laid back - well, depending on where you live, unstable economy and not the safest of all places to live.
You're probably better off traveling around each to get an idea. When you say 'older' it sounds as if you are still young. Are you talking about moving permanently or for a few years? When you go to America you'll have to drop your UK citizenship. There's no turning back...
American's also come off as snobby people. Although, I don't believe this. This is what a lot of Australian's think, which really disgusts me. But then again, American's seem to think we have kangaroos as pets! |
