Yes in smaller country towns. Probably wouldn't in the cities as much (unless you were hippies :)) and you certainly couldn't in a Westfield Shopping Mall.

But otherwise, yep, it is quite common.

Much the same as in Australia. You wouldn't expect to see someone in barefoot shopping at Westfield Bondi Junction but shopping at the Bribie Island mall red rooster you might.

oooh and did she see the little natives in their loin cloths too

oh pleeease

is it common to see people shopping barefoot...lol

wonder what she'll see if she went outback =)

Big Kev's a Queen
Lots of people in small towns dont wear shoes in NZ and Australia.

Girl.
Haha, yes it is.
I don't do it though.
Not really if there going shopping in a mall though..
More like if we go to the dairy or supermarket then we won't wear shoes, but I'd rather slip on some jandals atleast.

So yeaah, if you live you you'd just think it's normal.

Btw, why is this under Australia?

Australia:
Duh! Its hot, and its common in shopping centers and the floor of supermarkets are very cold and nice on your feet.

Although I havent seen it much in New Zealand, in the little rural towns yes, duh!

Couldn't something other than barefeet shock her? lol!
