Is living in Sydney at 16 without any family a good idea?

I certainly would not recommend it,16 year olds should be with their families if at all possible, regardless of where they live.A 16 year old by themselves would end up living on the streets as you could not afford rent, let alone food etc.

depends on where you are living. on the street not such a good idea. if you have a place or live in a shelter then it's probably not so bad.
i moved out of home as soon as i turned 16 and moved to Sydney i didn't have any had no problems, wasn't easy but i survived

Depends on what part of Sydney, plus the maturity of the person and why they are going to live there.
I know people who left home at 16 to move elsewhere because of study reasons. If you have a solid reason to go then I would say yes, if you are going just to get away from parents or whatever, than I would suggest a rethink.

You asked and you got the answer.

depends on your income, which will be your biggest worry. sydney is a very expensive place

It depends on you dear...how mature and wise you are....how much you can avoid trouble and how much people skills you have....whether you are gonna work or you are gonna study.....whether you have enough money to pay for accomodation......how far your parents and family are gonna be from you to provide help if you get into trouble.....what kind of people you are gonna associate with.....I think if your parents are paying for you and are going to support you and if you are going to study and work part time and associate with other students in a university type of environment it is ok....but if you just want to go wild and go and work and waste your time while you have to be learning in that age a trade or something useful it is not a good idea because soon or later you will be in a serious trouble that can affect your entire life.....there are very very nasty people around ...when you do the damage....it will never be the same again.....if you are wise and mature think and decide carefully...your future is in your own hands...no one is responsible for what you do....and no one does more damage to you more than your self
