New Zealand and Australia are two separate country's, which also means they have their own immigration laws.

NO!!!!!!! Lol, I'm a New Zealander and can safely say that they are two completely different coutries! It's like saying US and Canada are the same country. (Or England and Ireland) etc |

Definitely separate countries. As above, it's like saying is Canada in the U.S.?
Travel between the two countries definitely requires passports, I've done this many times because my husband is from New Zealand and I am Australian.
The cultures are quite different in many ways, but of course we have our similarities s well, just like any other country. The confusion seems to happen because we are in the Southern Hemisphere, where there aren't as many countries as the Northern Hemisphere, so people aren't as educated about Southern Hemisphere countries. Also, to outsiders, our accents are similar. Again, though, it's like saying to a Canadian "Are you from America?"
New Zealand's population is 4 million, Australia's is 20 million. Both small, but both full of quality rather than quantity :oP |

No, but there are so many New Zealanders, (Kiwis), in Australia it gets confusing sometimes! No passport required between the two. Fly or learn to swim REALY GOOD! It's a long way over ocean!

Son... But mom, I don't want to go to New Zealand!
Mom... Shutup and keep rowing!

New Zealanders get very mad when this kind of thing happens.....probably because we Aussies keep stealing the best bits from the Kiwis. Like pavlova. And Russell Crowe (before he started throwing phones).
But Australia and New Zealand are separate countries. |
