Yes.

Richo
The capital city in Australia is not Perth, but loads of you don't realise that, geography is not on the agenda in Australian schools then?
HO HO.
The thumbs down prove it.

perth is the most isolated city in the world, but i would never change that,we are also the richest state in australia.from all our mining industries.gols alumina.iron ore, diamonds.if you look at a map of australia, you will see we are the only city on the west coast.on the east coat there are five states including tasmania, which is an island state.perth has cool winters and very hot summers.summer temperatures can get up to 45 celsius.we have a coastline of great swimming beaches.winters can get to minus 2 celsius.although isolated it is a fantastic place to live.unfortuneately it has also become the most expensive place to buy a house in australia and the cost of living is very high

Yes. For example the next nearest state capital is Adelaide, which is around a 3 hour flight. Darwin and Melbourne come next at 3.5 hours plus.

Jakarta is the nearest foreign capital, around 4 hours or so.

Depart due West from Perth takes you south of Africa and the first landfall is South America!

Its remote.

I lived in Perth for 5 years and found it was far away but that the very thing i loved most about it. No one knew what I was up to!! Loved it! Would move back there in a flash but my husband is from Queensland and won't move.

doitnow
yes it is but a beautiful state ,hot as well and the isolation well it,s up to the person u may like the isolation cheapest state to live in though .i love going there on holidays

JCam
Not exactly the most isolated. That title belongs to Honolulu. Perth is the third most isolated city in the world. Because of that fact, I would love to live in Perth someday. Total isolation from the rest of the world. Must be very peaceful in Perth.

I live in Sydney, but would love to visit Perth, I hear the women are hot! and approach the guys, not like the pretentious girls here in Sydney. Yes it is the most isolated, but than again so is Sydney in terms of Europe and the UK etc...

Richo Fev
The most isolated capital city, yes.

Edit - Emma, Perth is the capital of Western Australia. Duh!

Monika
nope it's a nice place :-)

fresh
i wouldn't know because we are so isolated i have never even left my house.... perhaps you should come visit for a holiday but i warn you we will capture you and you will never leave.

Safÿre
Hate to tell you this folks... but Perth is NOT the most isolated city in the world. It's a common misconception. Hawaii is the most isolated place in the world... so Honolulu wins this race.
