Is queensland the only state that doesn't have?

daylight saving? and why don't they have it?

because the previous premier had no balls to change to it and now the current premier literally has none either. they have been brain washed in thinking cows wont milk, grass grows longer, curtains will fade more, children wont sleep, it will be hotter etc, so we will continue to live in the deep DARK ages

Far North Queensland doesn't need Daylight saving, due to the natural light in their position.

In SE QLD it could be useful for some people, but would be bad for those people who like a nice bright start to the morning, and prefer darker evenings.

It is bright when we get up, and it is bright when we get home, what's wrong with that ?

WA is trialling it to see if they will have it or not.

The reason that QLD does not have it is that the people of QLD keep voting on the subject and keep saying NO.

The government tried to have Daylight saving a few years back. We tried it, and north Queensland said no.

In Summer, when it is 6am in brisbane it is daylight, where is in Mount Isa it is still dark. Then at night it is the same, at 7pm it will be dark in Brisbane but still daylight in Mount Isa. If the premier ever tries to bring it back in, all the people living in North Queensland will vote them out in the next election.

For example if we did have daylight savings, the sun would not set until 8 or 8.30pm if u lived in the Outback. Sun = sunlight = HOT. How crap is that.

WE DO NOT WANT DAYLIGHT SAVING IN NORTH QUEENSLAND

Chris
We don't have it for a number of reasons:

Because the sun sets in the west the inland areas get the latest sunset from daylight saving. These areas are also the hottest so it would be most unpleasant for people in these areas.

Because of the low latitude we get plenty of daylight anyway.

Only a small proportion of people outside the cities have air conditioning. If the sun sets an hour later it takes and extra hour for the day to cool down, which makes kid's bedtimes hotter.

In summer A/C is a big power/greenhouse issue and daylight saving will increase demand.

It is really only the SE corner of the state that wants it (particularly school teachers and other public servants as they finish work earlier than most) and they don't have enough votes to carry a referendum.

There is a possibility that the Se corner may adopt daylight saving time but we'll see.

Western Australia may also stop using it as they have had a change of government and it was set up without a referendum (10 year "trial")

Yes. I wish SA didn't have it either.

Queensland don't have it as they have a lot of daylight hours already in summer and so they feel that it is not needed to have another one for working people.

the reason most of Queensland doesn't want daylight saving is the school kids out west have to catch the bus now at about 6:30 -7:00 am to get to school on time and don't get back home until 5:00 -5:30 pm if they had daylight saving they would have to catch the bus when it is still dark at 5:30 -6:00 am

It is way too hot im most of Qld. to have daylight saving. Up to 50 deg. and not much cooler at midnight, No thanks no daylight saving.
