Yeah it is laid back, but getting residency here is not that easy as the above said. Unless you are skilled in a area where there is a shortage of workers or get sponsored you are out of luck. http://www.immigration.govt.nz

Any more laid back and they would be dead!

Its extremely laid back here and very family orientated, people here are so friendly and well to sum it all up its very homely,a great place to be.
Citizinship isnt that hard as long as your intentions are good,if you wanted to come here and collect welfare then you wouldnt be granted citizinship.
Look me up if you get here :o)
Best of luck!

Well coming to New Zeland will definitely be more dull than over in the States, there is less people so it may also be more lonely, but it is what you make of it. New Zealand is really very calm and quite peaceful, we're not as family orientated as we used to but are more so than in other places of the world. Its easy to meet people and get involved in things if thats what you want and we also are still really idealistic. I don't know how easy it is to get citizenship or residence here but it is easier if you are white.

yeah in some palces its really quiet but like any other country it has the industry side were there is alot of tourist and malls.....but its really a nice place....it has alot of pine tress....im not sure about how family oriented they are though...and yes it's sort of hard to become citizen but its worth it...goodluck!
