Is the new australian government lame?

rudd's been overseas most of the time, swan has no answers for interest rate rises, the one from midnight oil looks and sounds like a drug addict, and gillard . . . well, she just talks with her ocker accent and that's about it.

Yes, it is.

People are realizing already that everything they blamed on Howard's government was not necessary the fault of Howard.

Oh how sorry some voters are going to be. They believed all the hoo-haa promised by Rudd & his cronies. He was going to wave his magic wand & fix everything overnight.

Now they are seeing petrol prices jumping, interest rates rising. cost of living sky rocketing.......blame John Howard now, why don't you?

Firstly, how long has the Rudd government been in office, a matter of weeks not years like the previous government. You can't fix all the mistakes made by previous governments overnight. It took years to cause the stuff ups and hopefully it wont take years to fix. what about the fact that computers for highschoolers will happen this year. Garrett looks set to ban the plastic bag which causes devastation to wildlife etc. Banks will do what banks will do that is rip off their customers no matter who is in government.
Its great to see a true Aussie like Gillard be proud and not try to alter her ocker accent to fit in with all of the others who think talking with a plum in their mouth makes them better than everyone else.
Well welcome to the real world, it takes all kinds of people to make our world the place it is and hopefully our new government will make Australia a better place for all.

Polifia?
Give it time mate! I think it's a bit early to start judging, what did you expect them to do???
I think that the fact that Rudd signed Kyoto on his first day is a very good sign of improvement and so far most of his policies I deem to be rather sound (except for that internet cencorship bill, hope it doesn't get passed).

What accent would you expect her to have? Pommy, like Alexander Downer? We in Australia don't judge others on their accent - where do you come from? In six weeks they are supposed to have reversed the direction of the economy of the USA (which is where the interest rate rises mostly come form) and in your opinion Rudd has been overseas too much? What is he supposed to do - stay home when meetings about climate change are on? Ignore the unfortunate service personnel overseas? What do you actually want?

Give them a chance. they have to pick up the peices from Johnnies government

jade=)
they're doing alright, better than i expected

The Liberal Party lost the election, try to accept that.
Do you really want John Howard and Co back?
Surely, whoever the PM is he/she would be attending to business overseas.
The interest rates were on the rise before the election and Peter Costollo wasn't doing anything to stop it.
It doesn't matter what Peter Garrett looks like, it's what he accomplishes that counts.
Lastly, may I ask what is wrong with a dinki-di Aussie accent?

Here here! Rudd is a Lamearse. In a few years they'll undo all the good work that was left to them, and we'll all be back in the crap.

Parliament hasn't even sat since the election. That's not due til February. I'll be keeping my eyes open to see how many things they don't deliver on.

from a New Zealand point of view, (which is to late to save) the new Australian government is throwing all the years of Howards great leadership down the drain, give it a few years and half of the school hours will be devoted to learning aboriginal songs and 'art' and the rest will be how to save the planet whilst annoying their best allie (America) and save the world with anti pollution, -until the Australian dollar is worth nothing and their influence on the world won't be worth a pinch of ship anyways. poor things. RIP Howards Great Australia
