If you are crazy enough to drive between the hours of 6am - 9am and 3pm - 7pm, then yes the traffic is that bad! I mean for example, this morning there was a horrendous accident this morning on Homebush Bay Rd where 4 out of 6 lanes were closed for 3 hours - peak hour! No-one was going anywhere fast.
Sydney must stop its reliance on the roadways and cars.
Homebush Bay has some nice places to live near by (I live 15mins north), try Ryde, Macquarie Park, Epping, North Strathfield, Concord, Concord West, Rhodes and maybe Parramatta.
Try www.domain.com.au, or www.realestate.com.au
Good luck! |

the main roads are very bad in peak hour - but not a patch on NY or London. I'd recommend the train - although that can have it's issues too.
From Homebush - if you lived further west, in the country, really nice places like Camden (where I grew up) would only be about 30 mins away - if you live east of homebush you will be going against the main flwo of traffic, but it could still be a nightmare! |

it all depends on your budget and your preferences. Homebush is nice and central. If you like a quiet life North rocks, carlingford, oatland area... if you want busier concord, strathfield, burwood...
compared to many countries I have visited, traffic is not that bad here, and homebush bay is a pretty new area so all its roads are big with easy access. |

Traffic in Sydney can be a breeze one minitue then hell within the hour! I dont know about Homebush Bay and work, but If you can get work near a train line or a bus stop which is easy to get to and from home, I would use that. |

The traffic in Sydney is nowhere near as bad as people make it out to be. Sure, it has it's bad days, but usually it's just fine. |
