Perth tap water is perfectly safe to drink.
Depending on what you are used to, you may find that its tastes a little metallic. That is because there is a relatively high iron content in the ground water. The untreated groundwater is used in gardens and parks and the iron causes the rust-coloured stains that you will notice on some walls and park equipment. The tap water is treated to remove most of the iron but so far as I understand it, even if it was left in, it wouldn't do you any harm. |
