Is the whitsunday islands, australia, a good place for a honeymoon? Where do you suggest -

we are looking for luxury accommodation, flying there, massages, all meals, beach activities.

Yep there is plenty of luxurious hotels in the Whitsunday chain of islands you will be amazed

We went to Long Island on the Whitsundays for our honeymoon, it was pretty good, its not luxury accommodation but the beds were comfy enough. Meals were all included, it was buffet breakfast, lunch and dinner, there was a pool bar, they also had a day spa where you can get massage treatments, and they had beach activities.
We went back to the Whitsundays in January this year and stayed at Hamilton Island, it is completely different it is much bigger and there are lots of different type of accommodation to choose from they have a variety of restaurants there too and more pools and activities then Long Island, the best thing would be to check with a travel agent to find what island would suit you best!!

Heron Island is a very beautiful place with its coral reef and great food and accommodation. I have been there myself and have vowed to go back there another day.

The 3 most luxurious islands are as follows

Hayman Island
Bedarra island
Lizard Island

Also there is a new resort that has just opened on Hamilton Island called Qualia This will probably be the most expensive out there at the moment. Hamilton Island would be the best place if you want activities. I have been to both Hamilton (Best facial in southern hemisphere in my opinion) and Hayman myself if you would like any more advice.

If you are not wanting to spend quite the amount of money for those places maybe try Dunk Island or as other people have suggested Brampton.

Definitly a beautiful place for a honeymoon, its where I intend to stay for mine, of course I need to find the man first.

Some of the islands have a reputation for being a little cheaper, I think Daydream and Brampton Island are cheaper while Hamiliton would be the dearer being the main island. I suggest visiting a travel agent to see what deal you can get.

As pointed out be others, I would avoid Airlie Beach for your honeymoon.

Hope you have a great time, and congratulations on the wedding.

The Whitsundays is amazing! I went there on my last holiday with my partner.

There are plenty of romantic activities for you to do. My partner and I went had a romantic beach picnic that we booked through this website - http://www.godo.com.au/activity/HELI100

I really recommend, we were well looked after by the supplier, everything was perfect.

Hope you have a great honeymoon!

There are some islands that are probably close to what you are looking for but airlie beach is backpacker land. I would say go to Hamilton Island, New Caledonia or maybe some of the more remote islands of fiji.
