Yes, you really can see these animals in Australia. You need to get out away from the cities though and spend some time in national parks.
There are great zoos in Sydney and around the country, plus wildlife parks:

In the state of Tasmania, we saw a Tasmanian devil in the wild. In a wildlife park, I got to hold a wombat. The animals are amazing!

Yes we have lots of kangaroos and koalas and if you go to the right places they are everywhere. there where a whole load of wild kangaroos near a mental hospital down the road from my primary school we used to go feed them all the time. you can find lots of koalas on kangaroo island (sounds funny i know) but they over-ran it and they had to even cull some of them. we have so many animals and they are sooooooo cute come and see them. |
