Melbourne is a poor man's Sydney

roscoedeadbeat
I don't know, but there are over 3 million people who live there who apparently think it's OK.

dark_knight_belial
If you don't like Melbourne then stay in ya own country, I am from the UK and prefer Melbourne to any crime ridden pretentious cities my home country has to offer. Obviously you don't have a clue what areas of Melbourne to go

There are always nice things about living in a city, if you're willing to open your eyes to them.

Melbourne is nice due to it's proximity to the beach. It is also the self proclaimed shopping/fashiopn capital of Australia, and, if shopping is your thing, there are plenty of shops in the Melbourne CBD.

It all depends on what you're into, but if you're willing to look, you can find plenty to do, and plenty that's nice.

it is beautiful and it has wonderful beaches and shopping. the crime rate is low too. i would move there if i could. i live in the Almighty U.S. but theres too much crime here.
