Is there anywhere open early sunday mornings in melbourne Australia?

I'm about to go on holiday to melbourne and we get in at 5am on a sunday morning, last time our hotel let us in when we arrived cause our room was ready but I don't think we'll be so lucky this time. We were told that the victoria station markets would be open but apparantly they open @ 9am on a Sunday morning!!

Have breakfast at the airport, train station or bus depot, catch a cab to your hotel, drop your luggage at reception, then take a stroll in the early morning chill, you'll get to see a wonderful sight, Melbourne awakening for the start of a new day. Pure magic.

Not alot at that time of the morning. you may be able to go te your hotel and have breakfast there then leave your bags with them in the cloak room / bag storage area and go out for the morning until the room is ready

It is the Queen Victoria Market, not Victoria Station. Victoria Station is in London not Melbourne.

Hotels should be open for arrivals at any time. Tell them in advance what time to expect you. Service stations, Seven Elevens and other convenience shops are open 24 hours a day. You could also find cafes open in Swanston St from 6am.

The Casino would be open.

There are a number of 24 hour pubs dotted around Melbourne. One is on the corner of Johnston Street and I cannot remember the name of the intersecting road but it is in Fitzroy. It is one of those pokie machine pubs and doesn't close. The name escapes me but you would go to Johnston Street Fitzroy and opposite a 24 hr service station called Quik. It is on the opposite corner. In Chapel Street Sth. Yarra there are some after party day clubs that begin around 0630 on sundays and lots of sit in food joints. Around there at that time it is a bit boisterous but it's somewhere to hang. This depends on where your accomodation is located. If you have a valid credit card, you could book straight into the Formula One Hotel in the airport by machine at the entrance. You pay and it gives you a code to enter the main lobby and the allocated room which is also printed out. There is no reception staff as it is all automated. The rooms are basic but very clean, about $70 and have an ensuite toilet and shower and a remote TV. If I go to melbourne I always go straight into that hotel to sleep off the flight and spruce up before going into the city etc. A good facility indeed.

Go to a RSL club. They serve inexpensive food and drinks (though the times they serve such things vary) and they have tons of big screen TVs. They also have pokies (gaming machines like we have in the casinos in Nevada) and there are generally people there at all hours. They also are really nice if you are there in the wee hours and happen NOT to be drunk. It's a bit of a novelty for them (I'm half aussie, so i can say that!). Just figure out where your hotel is, then google RSL clubs nearby. You could also look on craigslist- melbourne. You'll have to pay for a daily membership, but it's usually only $1 or $2. You'll win that back on the pokies in no time!
Cheers!
