well dave it's like this .. every morning , somebody in every australian home .. has to get up at three-thirty seven ( exactly) to ride a specially designed exercise bike in order to generate enough electricity for the area they live in.
If people fail to do this .. the water won't be pumped from the wells into our houses and we all have to then collect the water in buckets...... and we won't be able to wacth the recent episodes of My Three Sons or Mr Ed.
(and It's ok .. I'm a littel bored while I wait for dinner to cook ;) )
EDIT: hey other aussies .. I am guessing that this question was not asked in all seriousness .. but to just have a bit of fun .. don't take too much offence at it .. have some fun. Loved Ken E's answer BTW |

Electricity has been banned in Australia ever since the Tamworth town council tried to set up electric street lighting in 1888 and found that it worked. Everything here runs on kerosene including this computer. It gets a bit hot after a while and you have to keep pumping it up. |

Guess which country this one comes from? I knew they were supposed to be stupid but this one takes the Twinkie. |

And Kangaroos and Koalas in every backyard. I even heard we have computers , but i am yet to see any evidence of that. |

Fraid not, we have to rely on Kangaroo power, those blighters can hop pretty fast you know. Why wouldn't we harness all that energy! |

LOL
Hey! Ignore those answers who have no sense of humour.
Electricity - we have. What we DON'T have are computers, ATMS, indoor plumbing, mobile phones, twinkies and chinese restaurants. We also are in the middle of cotton pickers shortage.
cheers |

Not yet but John Howard is working very hard towards that goal. He has only been Prime minister for ten years so give him time. In that time he has managed to get candles imported from America from his friend George Bush but George Bush said that he must send more Australian troops to fight his wars before he send any matches. We wait in great anticipation!!!! |

LOL...Are you serious? |

No, I'm using a peddle powered computer at the present time. Gee, my legs get tired sometimes. lol
It will be great when we poor Aussies catch with all you clever people overseas.
I suppose, you have all the new stuff like telephones and TV, too. ;)
You sure are lucky. lol |

tuppenybitz
|
what is electricity? |
|

azza
 |
No. But we have things that look like power points. I encouage you to come over and stick a fork in one and see what happens. |
|

But Why??
 |
OH you mean AUSTRIA, that little country next to Germany, nuh they dont have electricity. Arnold the Governator told the people of Austria that it was not allowed, unless they shipped off a heap of Strudel to him up there in Sacramento. |

OK I will point out the obvious downfall of your question
IF there were no electricity then how would people see this question as a computer needs power to work and get online to view this question.
Bored yep I am with you... |

Yes there is electricity and indoor plumbing...but you're damned if you want a telephone or internet connected same day.....Aussies just don't do telephone/internet like the rest of the world! |
