Should all people who are caught speeding get their car crushed without a second chance?
It really annoys me every time I hear about people speeding and getting others killed. I believe the laws are not strict enough.

There is no such thing as "speeding accidentally"....

No its not having grown up in south sydney (sutherland shire) and living in the inner west now id feel more than comfortable in those places. Having said that there is some bad areas/streets but there is places like that in all areas, but no where i would be in fear of my life or getting mugged

fruitsalad
All of Sydney is very safe compared to other world cities. These areas are perhaps slightly less safe than other parts of Sydney, but I would not consider them to be unsafe or bad areas.

All of Sydney is very safe, as Sydney has a relative low crime rate, I could walk down any street in Sydney at any time of the day or night and I would know that I will not be killed or assaulted in anyway Having said this some common sense should be used, as there is a small possibility that you could be involved in something that you do not want to be involved in I have worked the streets of Sydney as a Security Officer for over 20 years, and I think it is pretty safe.

some areas have received a bad name, certainly west & south west (not south) have got more issues with crime etc but nothin to keep you scared of going outside. Aus isn't a third world country and its not enough to affect your quality of life. I live in the shire and have never felt unsafe

Every place has its good and bad areas the West is full of you families trying to get ahead ,you only have to go for a drive to see rows of lovingly maintained homes,

Amy should get over herself ,with recent riots in Cronulla ,it really gets up my nose when people in "The shire " think it is something else ,and no I don't live in the West or South West ,I live in "The hills" if we are intent on labelling everything.

I grew up in the south west of Sydney, in Cabramatta, which has one of the worst reputations in the city. But I don't feel unsafe when I go back there. The thing is, it's important to use the same common sense you should use in any big city. Don't wander around alone at night, don't hold your valuables in your hand, and don't leave your car or your front door unlocked.

If it's safety you want, just avoid big cities altogether.

Australia is a safe country. The western Sydney area has a bad reputation for fights and crime but as a whole it is a lot lower then other countries. I have heard no bad about southern Sydney, with the exception of the Cronulla riots, which again was over exagerated.

Western Sydney is a hole. My gran lives in Penrith and when I stay with her I feel like I have to watch my back the entire time. Any violence you hear about in Sydney is generally in the western suburbs.

The south is alright. Maroubra is a bit dodge but like kogarah and the sutherland shire are fine.
I view the shire as one of, if not the most, safe area's in Sydney. That's if you're not a leb of course
