Is victoria a better place to live than Queensland?

I'm a Queenslander I've lived in a number of places in Queensland and other states. I lived in Melbourne for a few years.
Melbourne is a wonderful city and I enjoyed my years in Victoria.
I personally prefer living in Queensland to Victoria.

It will be up to you how you enjoy living in Victoria.
If you make the most of things you'll love it, if you don't you'll want to move on again.

Go for it and see what happens.

From the sounds of it you're not tied down to any particular place. Good luck what ever you choose to do.

I can tell you all the reasons why I love Victoria ( and I am NSW born) .... but unless you actually come down and have a look for yourself .. it won't really matter... MAYBE have a plan to stay for a year or two and see what you think ?

Victoria is though more Diverse than JUST melbourne ( though I LOVE Melbourne)

OOOHHHHhh hand just re Melbourne being so cold and wet and horrible .. NOT SO .. For most of this winter .. I have gotten away with wearing two layers or less... ..

PLUS parts of Victoria get more sun than Qld .. eg Mildura and The Goulburn Valley.

Melbourne real estate is not a lot cheaper than Brisbane, overall it is more expensive and competing with Sydney. Melbourne is a great city with a very different climate from Brisbane's. I've lived there three times and thoroughly enjoyed it each time. My own choice of city is Sydney but there is nothing wrong with Melbourne.

Personally, I prefer Melbourne because I don't like the heat, but my bro lives in Brizzy and says compared to Sydney (where I live) it's the land of opportunity. He and his family have done really well since they moved there, so I can't argue against him.

But if you don't like the heat and want a change, why not try Melbourne out? It does get VERY cold in winter (compared with Brisbane) but you can always turn up the heater and wear a jumper!

Melbourne has a lot to offer, it's a beautiful and interesting city, with work opprtunities and plenty to see and do.

BUT, I would double check your real estate prices, I have been looking at real estate in both places for a while and think Melbourne is quite a bit more exxie than Brisbane.

You might want to consider what suburbs you are looking at and how you'd be placed for transport, etc if you buy too cheap in a spread out place like Melbourne. What you save on the house you could end up spending on the tollway.

I call Melbourne home and I wouldn't have it any other way. The humidity in QLD is crazy, so I understand why you hate that. QLD to me is a great place to visit but not to call home. Victoria has beautiful national parks, there's alway things happening in the city and great restaurants. Although houses are rather overpriced at the moment, it is still affordable. There is also a number of great Universities. There are beautiful beaches in Victoria too, although the water is a little cold. Good luck with whatever you decide.

hey im a 15 year old girl so0o im gonna teel you that i would love to live at the beach and have an all year round tan. but i noe what you mean i live right in melb and i love it. houses at the moment are expensive in melb but in the outer suburbs you can find some great things. plus uni hear is great i cant wait till im in uni. Mimestra - I came to Melbourne from Queensland when I was 19 and I'll never go back. I too hated the humidity and the boredom. You'll never be bored in Melbourne, in fact there is too much going on - I can't keep up with half of it. I also grew to love the climate - yes! shock, horror! - except for the searing hot summers.... It actually rains more in Sydney. The changing of the seasons is so beautiful, especially autumn. And you can wear a whole range of elegant clothes that you simply can't wear in the (sub) tropics - Melbournians dress up heaps more. You'll love it here.

Well Victoria, as i have lived here all my life, is good if you want like just a summer then a winter though the last summer went for 6 months and then went cold for 3 months and now its heating up again but it does get cold, i wanna live in QLD for a few months to experience the heat.

I know what you mean, I'm from Sydney and lived and worked near the Sunny Coast for four years. Loved QLD, BUT it gets soooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo boring up there. Bribie Island although beautiful almost sent me insane with boredom ! Mooloolabah is great as is Kings beach at Caloundra. No where, including Sydney has a climate and beaches like the Sunny Coast ! When I moved back I realised how easy it is up there, where you have a REAL summer that last longer than 3 months ! I couldn't live in Melbourne, as I hate the cold, rainy weather. Sydney however is far too expensive for most people, thats why I invest in Real Estate North of Brisbane.

But Why??

Stay up there mate, Vicco's are tight mexicans....
