Is wolf creek a real place in australia and is the film a true account of what happened?

Ho hum. No, it is not a true account of anything at all.

It is inspired by, rather than factually based on, a number of incidents occurring at different times in different areas of Australia. NO SINGLE INCIDENT is represented by the film.

There IS a Wolfe Creek Crater in Western Australia. The aerial shots in the film are of that crater. The rest of the film was shot in South Australia.

If your travelling the outback near the crater, be sure you have enough petrol, water and food and have a fully charged battery.
Bring money for the locals...just in case you breakdown.
Avoid blue ford 350s.
Dont accept any help unless you ask for it.
Be very afraid, the spiders bite, the snakes are big and bitey and the sun is very hot.
The nights are freezing cold so take a blanket.
Other than that the outback is great to explore and enjoy.

wolf creek crater is true
but the muders are just based on different serial killers

old dick withers
tis based on true facts., especially the Peter Falconio murder. There have been several unsolved murders in the outback over the past 20 yrs

True story indeed the Outback is a known haven for numerous serial killers and in fact information has it that Osama and his group of homies are hiding there. There has been numerous sightings of Osama trying to catch the wild camels.

fuzzykjun
