Depends whether u r up the top of OZ or way down south.
Top end it is hot summers then warm right thru winter. Lower half have hot summers then cooler winters. |

Depends on where, in Australia, you are. In Tasmania they have four seasons same as here in the UK, same in Victoria but the seasons are a little less extreme. The further north you go the less difference there is in the seasons until you get to the tropics where they have the wet and the dry instead of seasons as you know them. Having said that, seasons in Oz are just as screwed up as seasons are here so there are warm days in mid-winter and cold days in mid-summer. |

The temperatures don't really vary in Australia as much as they do in the US or UK (wherever you're from)
But what temperatures you get does depend on where you live in Australia. The country is freaking huge. |

I live on the east coast of Australia and 150km from the ski fields of Australia. To show the comparison of the two places in the middle of winter and summer of last year 2007. At the ski fields in the winter -10c in the summer 25c. My place in winter 8c in the summer so far 38c but in October (spring ) one day it was 41c. |

Check out the weather in Australia here:

But yeah, what the others have said - really depends were you are.
In Perth if you are tough (or poor) you can live all year round with no heating or cooling in your house.
Winter very rarely gets cold enough to put ice on your windscreen overnight, rains quite a bit (but never enough - we've had water shortages for years).
In summer 40+ degrees is considered bloody hot, and don't even think about walking on your driveway with no shoes or you will soon be hopping like crazy onto the lawn which will most probably be dead and burn your feet too. |
