Hervy Bay/Fraser Island is a must - it is gorgeous. Do do a tour if you can so you don’t just stay on the beaches and dirt tracks but see the amazing sites – make sure you see the gorgeous blue lake. Whale watching is available some months. Do a canoe ride along the shore and see dolphins. See the dingos. Beautiful blue crystal lakes. Gorgeous.

The Great Ocean Road – it is gorgeous from pics Ive seen and what I have heard!

Kakadu National Park - never have been but looks fantastic and would be a great place to visit.

Sunshine Coast - some lovely places – such as Maleny, Maroochydore or Noosa.

Places in Cairns and the Daintree National park - don't go swimming in the creeks up there as yes crocodiles are in the creeks and rivers up there.

Some gorgeous secluded places and beaches on the West Coast of Australia as well - just google.

I recommend Tasmania, over 1/3 of the state is world heritage wilderness or national park.

The Grampians is a beautiful area if you like walking and climbing. www.visitgrampians.com.au -You can also see the kangaroos in their natural habitat.

Anywhere in The Kimberlies Western Australia

candy
The Kimberly Region in Western Australia, especially Kununurra., Hidden Valley and the Argyle Diamond Mine.

wotzthepoint?
Try the Northwest of Western Australia, both the Kimberley and the Pilbara regions. You can find some really amazing places to visit in the regions, Exmouth for whale sharks (harmless) and incredible beaches, Karijini for gorges, waterholes and sightseeing. If you are lucky you can see some incredibly old rock art. In the southwest you can see some of the best beaches in the world, great surf, excellent camp grounds and friendly people. (not to mention GREAT wine and food)

Everyone always goes straight for the coast line. I am a country girl, so I suggest, that's where you go. If you like wide open spaces, wildlife, good aussie folk and a cold beer in the local at the end of the day, country Queensland is a cracker. You can start from Brisbane, Qld and go west. You will go through all sizes of places. In the Granite Belt (Stanthorpe), there is seasonal work. It is also great wine growing country. Further out to Roma and surrounds, you may get to go onto a property and get involved with everyday operations. They may even let you in on some great outback camping spots...all sorts of information can be gleamed around a beer at the local pub!!
