When mooving to Australia, it makes no difference if your distant relative may be related to originally Oz settlers. The job market is hot. Especially in WA. There's a boom on. This means there's lots of jobs and not enough people to fill them. Check out the website below for info on emigrating to Australia.

I think there is still a literacy test. You might have trouble.

your application will be thrown out due to your spelling

" related to the originaly oz settlers" will NOT get him ANY consideration at all.

Having trouble with the law in the past MAY be something that will work against him applying to come here.
Best to talk to the Australian consulate before anything else.

You DO NOT want to turn up here without the proper authorities and expect to walk out of the airport into our great country. Many people think they can ... to their regrets.... and have been put on a plane to go back home THAT VERY SAME DAY.
AND if that happens - it will THREE years before they will even look at any application to come here again.

Cheers

I would say the case wouldn't stand. You also have to sit a citizenship test.

Your "distant relative" is probably too distant to be entitled to a passport.

Are you? Wherever you go you should audition for a soap opera. Something tells you'd fit right in.
