Tracy But
gush.. it is going to be damn hot

1) Great Ocean Road
2) take a day trip to see the Little peginue,
3) Crown casino. the best and biggest in Australia. inside of Casino, there is big entertainment centre, such as restaurnat, foods, cinerma, and bars - you cna do bar hoping. and the restaurnt in hotel, there is the best buffet in town, and you can see the nice Finder Street station adn Yarra River. excellent view.
4) Toppest floor of Softel Hotel in Downtown. you can see the full view of Melbourne.

Melbourne Girl
The Eureka Skydeck is an absolute must! It is a glass cube projects from the 89th floor of the Eureka Tower (Melbourne's tallest building) for the best-ever (and scary) views of Melbourne.

Southbank has the Arts Centre, the National Gallery of Victoria, Victorian College of the Arts, Playbox theatre, Crown Casino, heaps of restaurants, cafes and bars, Cinemas and designer stores.

Federation Square - people love it and others hate it. Make your own decision.

Try the free tourist tram which allows you to jump on and off any time you want and gives you a tour right around the city including Docklands (which is a place to get off and wander around), Spring Street where the impressive government buildings are, past St Patricks Cathedral and St Pauls Cathedral (both of which have recently been restored), and the state library, Flinders Street Station.

There's all the ethnic precincts - Lonsdale Street for some Greek flavour, Little Bourke Street for Little China, and Lygon Street Carlton for Italian.

Bring clothing for all seasons, as the weather can go from one extreme to the other from one day to the next - it is best to dress in layers at that time of year. Bring comfortable walking shoes and your sunglasses as our skies are slightly brighter.

Anything out of Melbourne City such as the Great Ocean Road or a visit to the fairy penguins require a day or more touring each - especially the Great Ocean Road, which takes you past the 12 Apostles

Hope this helps

There are far too many to list but try www.thatsmelbourne.com.au they have them all. What do you like art, nature? that would narrow your question down a little. One thing for sure you will love it

It depends alot on what your into. I suggest going to federation square opposite flinders street station in melbourne, and there is an information desk there. they are really good. so they can tell you what kind of festivals are on and where you go that will interest you.

'Melbourne Girl' has given a really good answer, and very good advice about the weather!

They say we have 'four seasons in one day' and they're not kidding!

Tourism promotions make it sound like the Great Ocean Road is just a hop, skip and a jump from the city, but it's actually a couple of hours' drive away, at 100 kilometres per hour. However, it's definitely worth the trouble.

Basically you can pursue virtually any interest you like in Melbourne in December, including diving but excluding snow-skiing.

There's a lot of free, outdoor entertainment in our numerous public parks.

It's a good idea to hire a car, but take note of local driving rules:

when turning right you give way to EVERYTHING, except in the very few places in the centre of the city where hook turns are allowed, and these are clearly signed.

Keep out of the way of trams when driving! They have "fairways" where other vehicles may not drive.

We drive on the LEFT side of the road, but the RIGHT side of the vehicle!

A sign with a P with a red line through it means no parking at any time.

Our public transport system serves the city centre very well, and one ticket can be used for multiple trips on trains, trams, and buses. Just make sure to VALIDATE your ticket when you get on each vehicle - we have very heavy-handed transport cops!!

Melbourne's a great place - have a fantastic holiday!!
