If you're going to make such a big move,I should be more thorough than asking people on here. |

I think you would do better to work on helicopters than try to be a financial adviser right now. Financial advisers are a dime a dozen, and most most people want to strangle all of them! I do not think you would find an employer to hire you and sponsor your work visa as a financial ad- viser...and that is the only way to get a temporary work visa to the U.S. See 1st site below. As to immigrating...U.K. citizens cannot immigrate to the U.S. unless they have a highly needed work skill or immediate family member to sponsor them. The only other way to immigrate is the
diversity lottery program...takes years and incredible luck and U.K. citizens are not currently eligible...see 2nd site. Tough it out where you are...there is no magic place for any of us right now. |

The best place to start researching your eligibility for an Australian visa to live and work here is the official Australian Immigration website : http://www.immi.gov.au
Some Australian visa categories
•Employer sponsored workers
•Points-based skilled workers
•Point-based skilled workers who have studied in Australia
•Students
See the shortage of Aussie skilled jobs off the Immigration website http://www.immi.gov.au/skilled/index.htm
Or view occupations in demand here http://www.immi.gov.au/skilled/general-skilled-migration/skilled-occupations/occupations-in-demand.htm

I've looked into moving myself (i'm in I.T.) I think it helps if the skills you have are in demand/shortage in Oz. I'm guessing that your skills as a helicopter technician will be more in demand than financial advisor skills - but I honestly don't know for sure. Just think that there is a lot of travel by small aircraft in Oz (as the country is so vast) be it with planes or helicopters. I think farmers use helicopters for some farming tasks as well.
Here's a site I've looked at in the past (but there's loads out there)...

America is bad right now the economy is terrible and only getting worse. Where I live it is very hard to find employment, jobs are scarce. I am Considering moving myself, I also thought of Australia. Anyway be sure to research thoroughly where ever you decide to go. But The United states I wouldn't suggest. |

fill an application form in both Australian Embassy and American Embassy and find out which one is easier to live there and find a job. |

If Britain is going down the drain, why are you leaving? You mustn't be a very patriotic Briton... Only stay when the good times are there, leave when it gets tough?
anyway, come to Australia if you really want to. I am just saying you're a ***** if you leave because of that. You're the reason Britain is going down the ****. |

Well, you being in Britian means are you part of the Common wealth so going to Aussie would probably be easier. Have you considered NZ? that's such a beautiful place and the people are so friendly. Auckland and Wellington are a big area for business and their HQ so i would imagine there is good work there as well. |
