It may be possible to lol like within a year or so. During this time, you will pick up many terms you may not be familiar with but you'll learn lol.

Also, if you're good at impersonating, then why not use it to others? They'll be impressed! =P

Good luck!

hm it depends
ive gotta canadian friend whos lived here 10years n his accents the same as its always been. some people change though.

aussies have a hard accent to impersonate so why don't you just stick with your normal accent? it doesn't make any difference to anyone cuz australias so multicultral.

THE REAL DEAL SEX APPEAL

never you must be born here to have one
after a few years a lot of people will think you have one BUT us Aussies will know you don't

in australia thongs are flip flops, not the dirty underwear :]

Don't lose your accent, though most Aussies will think you are American. At your age you may get a little bit of an Aussie 'twang' but you can always pick up the slang.

Hey, we speak the same language. When I have travelled have been taken for a Canadian and a New Zealander. Our accent is not as broad as yours, we speak quicker and I would say you will fit right in as you are.We tend to have different names for things than you do but give yourself a few weeks and "youllbealright".See what I mean. Welcome to our Country when you get here.

Even if you work really hard at it, it will take quite a few months to become obvious. Don't even try though. Most people will love your Canadian accent, though you shouldn't be offended if they mistake it for American - few Aussies can tell the difference.

If you're absolutely determined to sound like a dinkum Aussie, eat lots of Vegemite.

People that try to impersonate the Aussie accent sound like idiots. It might sound alright to outsiders but Australians will just think your strange.

It depends.I have 3 children and they have been in Australia for almost 2 years. My eldest who is 16(she was 14 when she came here)and still has a very thick Irish accent and will more than likely always have an Irish accent. My middle child who is 12 has more of an Australian accent than I do,and my 5 year old has a mixture of an Australian accent and an Irish accent, but as he's getting older and mixing with more people, he's slowly but surely loosing his Irish accent.

Whats wrong with your accent, why do you want to sound like an aussie! Be yourself, time will tell....if you ever move here.

My son is 18 and been here 14 months from America, he has not picked up any accent and doesn't want to. He has picked up some of the regular sayings, but sounds like a yank saying them. I have picked up a bit of the accent, but most people just think that I am canadian (I already had Irish accent from my grandparents, so my accent is really blown away now).

You can't fake an Aussie accent, you got it or you don't. Don't hide your own, as Aussie boys will think it is hot. Be proud to be Canadian, it is a mixing pot of accents in this country anyways.

You will never be able to fool an Aussie. As someone else said you will probably sound Australian to foreigners, but not to Australians. I lived in the UK for a long time and foreigners thought I was British from the slight twang in my accent, but Aussies always knew where I was from.

Also being a girl would make no difference. It is the age that matters, if you were 14 months old rather then 14 years then that would be different as children can change accents straight away.
