we have been told by operators that insurance costs are too high to have open fire places so they provide little wood stoves. still cosy!
we have stayed at
1. Queen Mary Falls in their spa cabin - verry private! & the spa bath has a large window with gorgeous views & little wrens sit on the sill. Also lorikeets, etc. sit on the verandah waiting for handouts. You pretty well need to take your own food as it's in the middle of nowhere! bring c.d.'s - they have a player.
2. we have also stayed at kondallila falls - very expensive & you can get dinner in the cafe. also very quiet, great double spa bath, view, romantic, etc.etc.
3. honeysuckle cottages ( at stanthorpe) with spa bath & is B&B - very elegant cottages. usually booked out on weekends so need to plan ahead - off the main road, very quiet yet you can still drive to town centre for a meal or takeaway pizza/pasta.
have a lovely romantice weekend away wherever you choose!
