Australia does not have one national sport. The two most widely popular are cricket in summer and Australian football in winter. The Australian Football League, AFL, is the top competition in Australian football but the game is played in all States and Territories at all levels. It is far and away the most popular football code. The only football code that competes with it for the number of players is soccer.

Rugby Union is played in all States and Rugby League is the most popular game in Queensland and northern NSW.

The most popular game for women is netball.

Australia - Cricket is the national Sport.

Different football codes are the most popular winter sports in different parts of the country. Australian rules football is the most popular in Victoria, South Australia, Western Australia and Tasmania, while

Rugby league and/or Rugby Union are more popular in New South Wales, Queensland, the Northern Territory and the Australian Capital Territory.

"Two-up" is a traditional game which is true-blue Australian, invented in old Australia, and allowed to played LEGALLY in public only on special days, such as ANZACs day public holiday, since it's actually gambling...Of, course you can gamble and play it any time in an Australian casino. This "Two Up" game set comes with genuine Australian pennies and a Australian hardwood "kip". 100% Aussie made from Aussie materials!

This traditional game is also considered as their national game.

Good luck!

Two up
but it can only be played on Anzac Day.

AFL? hmmm don't think so
Rugby League? Not if it has AFL to compete with.
Possibly cricket - we are, after all, WORLD CHANPION at it.

It is not football since there are four codes played, five if you count the small gridiron community. For men probably cricket or golf, for women probably netball or golf. Tennis is still big.

If you mean a game invented by the Nation of Australia, then it would be " Australian Rules Football " which is unique to this country and is the best football game in the world.
