Once in Australia I came across a very weird animal?

It looked exactly and I mean exactly like some tree log on the ground. It was only when it moved slightly and noticed very little eyes that I realised that it was an animal. Some people told me that it was rare to see them but I forgot the name. I asked this Q about 2 years ago and got no answer. Anybody ??

it was most likely a lizard, try searching google images for pictures of goannas and bungour (sorry have no idea how its spelt) if you cant remember legs it could have been a legless lizard which are often confused for snakes.

Was it like a lizard or snake or something like that?

Or small like an insect?

Or a bird maybe? The Tawny Frogmouth blend in to a tree (or log) and can be hard to spot...

The playpus maybe seen as a log in the water maybe.

Try the following connection, it might help...

Where abouts were you? Some animals are only found in certain areas so that may be able to narrow it down for us.

The only weird animal I can think of is a Thorny Devil
