You might have been better off putting this question in the Politics & Government category.
Many of us Aussies aren't really interested in the US election. I am interested for some strange reason.
It's like following some weird soap-opera in my opinion.

But here's the answer for you.

In terms of politics in the USA, a maverick is someone who doesn't always vote along party lines.
In Australian politics it would be the same as an MP crossing the floor to vote with the opposing party.

When Sarah Palin is described as very right-wing it means she is ultra conservative.

Right-wing politicans in the USA are usually against government-sponsored relief and welfare programs, universal health care, tax relief for low wage earners etc.

Palin has nothing to do with Australia

If you would like an education on Australian Politics see the Australian Prime Minister's website http://www.pm.gov.au and Parliament of Australia http://www.aph.gov.au

Post any Palin questions under post it in the Politics & Government or Elections NOT Australia !!

I am so sick of these questions in the Australia catagory!!!!

It means the American education system has failed. Particular areas of concern are geography, spelling and grammar.

Another question.....can we really trust Americans to vote in the next leader of the 'free world' when they can't even pick the right category in Yahoo Answers?

It's a real worry. Their next leader will have access to weapons that can wipe out the world :-(

YOHAN BUNDY
Palin says a lot of things, all of which are stupid.

She said this in the news today --
Palin says Obama infomercial short on specifics

ERIE, Pa. – Republican vice presidential candidate Sarah Palin says Democrat Barack Obama offered few national security specifics in his infomercial.

WHAT NERVE -- THIS FROM A WOMAN WHO COULD NOT THINK OF ONE SUPREME COURT RULING .SHE ABSOLUTELY KNOWS NOT A ONE SPECIFIC ON ANYTHING.

SHE IS DUMB AS MULE DROPPINGS.

I am so waiting for the elections to be over because at least then hopefully these Palin question will not turn up in the Australian section.

Since she lies and nothing she says can be believed.
Just lies to destroy the democratic lead. She has used money for travel for her family, daughters, etc. and stayed in $700 night rooms at Alaska's expense.

Maerick, doubt she even knows the meaning of this word she just echos McCain.
