I had the same problem in Melbourne at summer time. It was shocking trying to understand all these people who could speak english properly.
Ring again and demand to speak to the Manager again. If you can'tspeak to them say you will be ringing customer service for season hotels.

Yeah you should call the manager good idea.

Having worked in hotels for most of my career, and having a husband who works security at a hotel, I know that the general manager of the hotel is NOT the person to talk to about stuff you may have left behind. They're usually too busy managing the business end of the hotel that they rarely get caught up in guest matters. Instead, you should call customer service for the chain, like that one guys suggested, explain your situation, and have them transfer you to the right people who can actually help you, usually either guest services or security, who will ask you identify whatever objects, and then get your information so they can mail it back to you.

go there and talk to them face to face. much easier

you should call up the call center for the hotel chain and ask to speak to a customer service representative and they will either transfer you to someone at the hotel you speaks english or they will be able to help you from there. the same thing has happened to me before with marriot and thats what i did and they sorted everything out. the number should be listed on the website for the hotel chain.

Call back and ask if they have a recervation and queries email address, most hotels/motels do! then your question will be right in front of them and they will be able to understand! .. before imoved here I was going to stay there and didnt because other ppl mentioned this same problem!
