Australia is quite strict with their immigration laws. If you do not have a direct family member that can sponsor you, you will have to have a university degree or a position that is specialised, or have a skill that is in shortage in Australia, bricklayers, carpenters. If you don't want to gain residence, you get get a working visa, which is quite easy. |

You need to be qualified (and prepared) to do a useful job. Some jobs need a lot less qualifications than others, but it's no good saying you'll be a lavatory cleaner then expecting the state to support you because you can't get a job as a brain surgeon. |
