Schools do not operate private zoo's in Perth.

There are numerous Roo's to be found at the Perth Zoo and plenty to be found in bushland surrounding outlying suburbs.

There is also a sizeable number of beautiful tame Roo's to be found at an inner city suburb near a couple of major media outlets.

Hope this is of some help.
Cheers :)

Yes there are.
They are only allowed to attend school,Monday and Wednesday as the other days they attend physical exercise classes to teach them how to hop, jump fences, destroy farmers crops than on Sundays they go to channel 9 studios to film "Skippy"
Than when that's finished ,on Sunday night they practice humping.

um if u mean as pets no. but in the outer limits of the australian cities there are. i know that in Latrobe university in bundoora, melbourne they have like groups of kangaroos that hop away every where. also in rural schools but never in the close city schools. its very clique. tourists and esp americans think that we have koalas in our backyard and kangaroos hopping down the road and think that we talk like yobbos. people sterotyping is bad and australia is not like that. if u want to experience the real australia take a holiday here with out tour guides and go off the beaten track.

No, not the last time I looked. (None in Perth schools either.)
It sounds like someone is pulling your leg (having a joke with you).
Do Americans have grizzly bears in schools?
Do the British have badgers in schools?

I don't think your are joking, OK?

I know most of the answers here are sending you up, but that is because the MAJORITY of Aussies live in urban areas, just as is often the case in the U.S. or European countries. A sizeable proportion of Aussies have never been out of their city limits, and the only kangaroos they have come across are in zoos.

If you visit the outer areas of the large cities (even Melbourne or Sydney) you could come across kangaroos. My area is not a large city (population about 50 000), but we DO have a mob (that is what you call a group of kangaroos) that live quite nicely on the lawns of the University of the Sunshine Coast, as well as the neighboring high school. These kangaroos, while not intimidated by the student population, are DEFINTELY not pets, and are a wild animal and need to be treated with respect.

However, as I said earlier, the majority of Aussies live in major cities, and as a rule, they would not expect to see kangaroos in the schoolgrounds. It is very likely though that you could spot a possum, as the possum has adapted very well to living with humans, and can be found in even the most urban areas, living in trees in parks, or even in the roofs of houses.

Yes and there are crocodiles in my pool and Steve is wrestling with them!

You're joking, right?

No, there are no kangaroos in Aussie schools, any more than there are wild animals in any school in any modern country.

carabatzis_2000
hehehe, depending on which school! In the cities I doubt it (which is where most of us live), but in country and rural areas, it wouldnt be suprising if kangas take over the footy field. It happens in the outer suburbs too, but most of those get hit by cars, so i dont know about them except their insides are red :S
