One of the resorts in the Blue Mountains would be ideal, or something in the Southern Highlands around Bowral.

The best place I have ever stayed in is the Byron Bay resort, I know you have that 2 hours max from sydney but I would highly recommend going to Byron Bay, it is a fantastic, quiet place. It is located just below the border of QLD on the coast, If you want to save a bit of time catch a plan with Quantas, Jet Star or Virgin Airlines to Coolingatta and get a taxi (or even get a hire car (what I did)) back over the border on the freeway for around an hour to Byron Bay straight to your resort.
I hope this was of help to you. It was certainly to me

the blue mountains are rife with romantic mountain getaway retreats - shouldn't be too hard to track down exactly what you want via the net! |

I've gotta agree with Kiama, there are some beautiful restaurants there and in neighbouring Shellharbour. Jamberoo Valley Lodge have a special on Friday nights, dinner, bed & breakfast $165 per couple. But I don't think they do massages, etc..
Bella Chiara in Gerringong have a health spa which sounds to die for but I'm guessing expensive.
Blue Mountains would be nice too but a bit chilly at this time of year. |

i only can think of romantic ideas in sydney.
for me my fave bar is hemmesphere. its one of the most romantic bars as well as blu horizon in shangrila hotel in sydney. i am from sydney and ive had romantic nights away staying at diff hotels and getting the romantic packages in the hotels in sydney wich include a massage.. brekky and champagne and choccies on arrival.
if you are willing to just stayin sydney my bf 4 valentines day did this.. he hired a limo for 2 hours 2 drive us to the romantic spots in sydney and we'd go outside and walk round for like 20 mins and then go back in the limo to another location then he got a nice 5 star hotel room with champers and chocolate and then we had dinner and then we went 2 the beach and had a picnic on the beach with champagne and blankets and sum candles around mind u this was in summer. LOL |
