NEW ZEALAND!
I've been to both but New Zeland is a million times better. It just rains all time in Scotland.
I LOVE NEW ZEALAND ! go there. it's worth the 32 hour trip :P (if you live in the UK) |

New Zealand is very beautiful and you are right when you say some places in New Zealand have a similar look to some places in Scotland although it depends on which part of New Zealand you travel too.
I live between New Zealand and England and have travelled a lot around both Islands. From my own experiences New Zealand it's self is unlike anywhere else in the world. In a matter of hours you can travel from a very tropical looking place through a desert to snow topped mountains. The country itself is so varied it's like every country in one.
If I had to pick one it would be New Zealand every time, for it's beauty, it's culture and it's wonderful friendly people who made me feel at home from the first day I set foot on NZ soil. |

But i also heard that New Zealand is beautiful so if you have the opportunity you should go. |

NZ is 3.5 times the the size of Scotland, but with less people. It depends how long you have.
Despite other comments, the east of Scotland has only half the rainfall of western NZ. |

Hello,
I live in Scotland and have done so for 11 years, but grew up in Australia and New Zealand.
Both countries are beautiful and they are similar in landscape and weather. New Zealand is better for adventure, having a good summer, it is close to Australia. Downsides to New Zealand is that there is limited work, and its far away from Europe if you want to travel.
Scotland, well its beautiful, it has rubbish summers but the most breathtaking scenary you can imagine.
If I am honest, its kept me here for 11 years, come to Scotland, its perfect :-) |

I have been to both and new Zealand and Scotland are quite different. Scotland can be very bleak it is also really ancient . New Zealand is a young Country. At least in New Zealand one can get a sun tan but not in Scotland . Yes they both have mountains and Lakes {lochs] New Zealand is far more lush |
