okay....as for the first answer of Australia being a mini-America, my guess is that you have never lived in both countries cause i can tell you from experience that Australia nothing like the US....

i have lived in the US now for a year and im still getting used to the cultural and social difference of the two countries...

i have also spent time in Europe (about a year after I finished high school) and i can honestly tell you that if someone made me decide where i was going to live the rest of my life i would be back in Australia in a heartbeat....

Australia is awesome! i cant wait to come home in a few years...its nice to experience different lifestyles and cultures, but Australia is Australia, unique, beautiful, friendly, and HOME...i cant say much more than that!!!

New Zealand. Their population is going down, they all now live in Tweed Heads.

australia for sure. it is soo perfect . we are no mini america and we aint stuck up and cold like europe. we are friendly an safe. people are so lovely and melbourne is beautiful. i was i the city today and it was 27 and there were beautiful people everywhere relaxing on the grassy areas in front of the state library and at uni and it was just great. you will never be uncomfortable here

Europe, because Australia is basically a mini-me version of America. We do what America asks us to do, sign free trade agreements with America to help out America and screw over our own farmers.
I hear that New Zealand is nice - I have never been there myself, hoping to go next year, but I have never heard a bad word about it. From everything I have seen, its a beautiful country, and the lifestyle is really relaxing, especially if you live just outside the bigger cities.

edit - for the person who said I haven't lived in both countries. I have lived in Australia for 22yrs and spent a year living in both America and Canada - I enjoyed my time in America and as much as there are social and some cultural difference, on the political front many things are the same - we take on board a lot of what happens in America and when something becomes and issue there it is suddenly an issue here. I would rather live in Canada out of the 2 of them - offers a better lifestyle than America does. Our Prime Minister is telling leaders of other countries they need to apologies for the past atrocities of the leaders and the devastation they inflicted upon their own people, while he avoids all talk of doing the same in his own country, and the only time reconciliation is mentioned is a couple of days before he announces an election that no one gives him a hope in hell of winning - thats desperation, not valid politics.
I agree with 'But Why' - New Zealand offers much more than Australia does, its much more forward thinking and lives in the 21st century in terms of politics, laws - they were the 1st country to give women the vote - they are a lot more forward thinking and advance than other countries and still somewhat untouched because people think of Australia before New Zealand - from everything I know of the place, I would rather live there than my own home country of Australia.
